Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). A skilled therapist determines the most appropriate massage modality in addressing injuries, chronic aches, fluid retention and other conditions. Therapeutic pressure can always be modified to clients likely throughout the massage depending on the client’s needs.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu massage has many benefits to the body and mind.  From the Japanese word shi meaning finger and atsu meaning pressure, this centuries-old art of pressure massage alleviates tension and stress while improving circulation and providing a gentle calmness.  The nervous and immune systems are both stimulated by applying pressure to the meridians, providing relief for both body and mind. Shiatsu also restores the circulatory system, improving blood flow throughout the body.
